Bantry Bay Condos hang off a cliff over the ocean so all rooms have wonderful ocean views. Listening to the lulling waves, viewing spectacular sunsets, and lounging on the balcony gave a romantic and relaxing aura to our week in Cape Town.
Bantry Bay is in a very nice neighborhood with up-scale housing, condos and business hotels. After our initial discovery, we started our mornings by walking a couple of blocks to a Coffee Bar/small grocery store that served latte, a variety of bagels and our favorite, lox and bagels. On our walks we noticed that every morning driveways and sidewalks are washed clean.
The condo is decorated in bright "beach" type colors that put us into a holiday mood the minute we entered. We had a two-bedroom condo with the living room and master bedroom opening onto the balcony. There was a full size kitchen and eating area. The bedrooms were small and might be crowded for a family, but since it was just two of us we had plenty of room.
Amenities include covered parking, daily cleaning, prompt laundry service, and a very pleasant and helpful staff. Although the parking is covered it is not enclosed and sea spray deposits salt on the cars. Typical of the excellent service of the staff, one of the parking attendants washed our car during our stay. There were options for tours and food delivery as well, but we did not take advantage of these services. We used our Time Share to reserve the Bantry Bay Condo so we did not pay a nightly rate.
Bantry Bay Condos (RCI) are an ideal beachhead to explore Cape Town from. Conveniently located close to Cape Town City Center, the Victoria and Alfred Wharf (V&A), and the Table Mountain Cable Car these sights are less than 10 minutes away. Victoria Road that passes in front of the Bantry Bay Condos winds south to Hout Bay and beyond. Unfortunately while we were there the road was closed south of Hout Bay with a sign suggesting you could drive further, but at your own risk. There are other highways convenient to Victoria Road that will take you to the very tip of the Cape.
