The timeshare is a three-bedroom condo. It has everything you need in it, and the staff is very helpful. You can find your way around very easily, and there is a beach a short walking distance away. The weather in great, and the local people are very friendly.

The ocean is a short ride down a lovely path. Charleston and Savannah are nearby and absolutely worth the trip. Okefenokee was a 3 hour trip away and enjoyable.

Close to the ocean, lovely resort, lovely landscaping, trees, shrubs, flowers, close to the facilities.

Resort Experience:
Southwind Villa units are clean and spacious. Our two-bedroom villa backed over a golf course and was near a lagoon. We biked to the beach, we biked the paths, we biked everywhere! The unit itself had everything we needed.

Biking, golf, dining, shopping. Lovely grounds, peaceful and just loved the Spanish moss laden trees. It was like a canopy and very restful.

Best Things About the Resort:
Clean, liked the location and layout. Very large bathrooms and whirlpool baths in each. Nice tropical flair in decor.

Resort Experience:
Loved the area and the resort. You have your privacy and can sit and watch the golfer go by on your deck. I would highly recommend this resort.

Best Things Nearby:
The beach was beautiful for walking and riding bikes. Also it is nice for chatting with other folks staying nearby who were out walking. Even though we felt our Shipyard Plantation and our unit was off the beaten path and private, we were only a short drive to many restaurants, grocery stores, and even two movie theaters. There are churches nearby for Sunday worship. We also discovered that we could have free internet access at the Hilton Head Public Library. You must register and take your registration paper with you. When you arrive at the library go to the desk and sign up for a computer. Each person is only allowed to stay on the computer for one hour. There is not usually much more than a half hour wait and often not that long. The library has a special area where they have a book sale of used books ranging in price from about $1 to $4. This is a good place to browse while waiting for your turn on the computer.

Best Things About the Resort:
We certainly liked the fact that we had the use of two free bikes during our stay. Also a nice added touch was a pretty red carnation laying on the kitchen counter in a vial of water. It stayed fresh and pretty throughout our stay. Our unit, #2004, was just across the narrow drive from the pool and hot tub. There were grills and picnic tables available at the pool area. While it was too cool to swim while we were there we did use the hot tub and a neighbor was using the grill one evening.

Resort Experience:
The unit was very nice -- two bedrooms, two baths. The master bathroom was very large with a Jacuzzi tub and a separate very large shower. There was a long vanity with two sinks. The unit was all on one level. It was the first floor, but we had to go up about seven steps to the front door, not a problem. There was a TV, VCR and radio in the living room. In the master bedroom, there was also a TV.

We did see two rather big bugs and a couple small ones. That was not a problem either. There was a sign posted telling about the bugs in the south so all was well with it that and it didn’t bother us any more than seeing an ant in our own home.
