I have never stayed in a place where your every whim was anticipated. A very tall doorman greets you at the front and takes care of all of your luggage. As soon as you check in, all of the employees in the hotel know your name. I still haven't figured out how they did this. The interior decor of the hotel is all done in Victorian. There's so much wood paneling in the hotel it is unbelievable! At the front desk, there is the concierge who will take care of anything and everything you want. This is not a place for people who ask prices (in other words, if you ask "how much?" then you do not belong there).

The rooms were so luxurious, decorated with antiques and in floral fabrics. I had an ensuite, which had a living room, bedroom and a fantastic bathroom. The feeling is like you are staying in a palace. Next to the beds or bed are three buttons labeled Butler, Room Service, and Concierge. You get your own personal butler to do any chores you might want. I used mine to unpack my suitcases and then iron all of the creases out of my clothes from being packed. If you need your shoes shined, he will do it. If you don't feel like hanging up your clothes, he will do that too. At night, you put your shoes outside your door and in the morning they come back super shined. The linens used on the beds were Irish and they put a small mat where your feet land in the morning that says Good Morning on one end and Good Night on the other end.

No photography is allowed in the grills or restaurants. They try to respect the privacy of everyone who stays there, apparently because of the paparazzi. Queen Elizabeth often goes there for lunch or dinner. My favorite place to hang out there was the American Bar, which looks like a men's club. For a snack, they serve you homemade potato chips, which come out piping hot. The food in the main restaurants is out of this world. When you eat, there are about three people to serve you: the waiter, the waiter’s assistant, the busboy, and the sommelier, if you want wine. When you sit down, there is an army of silverware (real silverware) in front of you. Once you order, the silverware that you will not need for your meal is removed from the table. During your stay at this hotel, you will never see a bill or be asked, "What room are you in?" or be asked to sign a bill.

The maids who clean your room are French and they all wear a black and white maid outfits. No kidding! During my stay there, I felt like royalty. It was more like staying in someone's home than it was a hotel. I have nothing but fond memories of staying there and I would jump at the chance to stay there again.
