The main resort, restaurants, pools, bars, and lobby were located about a 5-minute walk away. However, there was always a shuttle just a call away. There was no Jacuzzi, sauna, or whirlpool. The staff was always polite and helpful, but for best help, the RCI office was always number one. There were several different bars at the resort, one in the lobby, one at the beach, and one in the VIP world, which is not accessible to everyone.
The food and dining was not the best experience. For breakfast, our maid would come and bring a danish and fruit tray and stock our refrigerator with drinks daily. She would also cook eggs for us, which were good. The breakfast in the restaurant was usually too early for us. Lunch was good when it was available in the buffet. And dinner requires prompt reservations, as the Italian, Asian, Mexican, and seafood restaurants were extremely hard to get into. All in all, the worst part of all this was that food was not available 24 hours a day, as we were told. Lunch was very short and the snack-bar food was only open for like an hour, not all day long, as we were told. The snack-bar food was not up to par either.
The pool was great and the swim-up bar was great. The beach truly is not very nice, kind of dark and ugly, with rough sand. There is good mingling with the locals trying to survive off their businesses on the beach, and they were not too in-your-face. The entertainment was not quite as good as I had anticipated. The day activities were hardly ever participated in by many people at all, and nobody seemed to know about them. The nightly shows were outside in the "amphitheater" and pretty good and always good for a laugh. However, by 10:30pm, after the shows, the nightlife is dead. The bar is open late and there are usually a total of a few 30-year-olds sitting there, but no dancing occurs. Basically, all in all, I would have chosen a different resort for our needs, because the teens wanted more nightlife and more teenagers to hang out with. It is not at all a bad place; it is simply more of a resort for adults going to relax.
