Quote: Excellent value. Clean and fun. Requires about 5 minutes' walk from the closest subway station, though, and it is not that obvious to find. Also, bring a bath towel with you.

Quote: In a private three-person room, we couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. It was inexpensive and the staff was delightfully helpful. It had all the necessities: beds, sheets, lockers, and a private bathroom with hot water. There was no curfew or internet access. It might be better situated, but really, you don't mind the stroll from the subway and it ensures a quiet night. Breakfast was inexpensive and the pub had a pool table and patio, so you could mingle with other travelers. Plus, you had to smile at the Australian wombat decor in Austria. I heartily recommend the Wombats to anyone, especially for young people out on that adventurous tour of Europe and asking only for the basic essentials in their lodging.

Quote: www.wombats.at Wombats is a very modern hostel located about 10 minutes walk from Westbahnhof station. For €14 you get a very spacious sunny dorm room with a sparkling new bathroom. The hostel does seem to get very full over the summer months. After my first night, I went to pay for another few nights and was told that there were no rooms available at 11 am in the morning... all booked out. I didn't make use of my free welcome drink as I fell asleep as soon as I got there, but after talking to others who had stayed at Wombats, I was assured that all the facilities are very nice: Internet, bar, bicycle hire, and all the standard fare. I would recommend this place but I would suggest trying to book ahead.
