My room was at the front of the building on the first floor and opened out onto a shady balcony, perfect for opening the doors and letting the breeze flow through. The common areas were crusty at best, as most of the furniture had certainly seen better days quite some time ago. There was a tiny kitchen with very few utensils and a TV room with very fuzzy reception.
The hostel wasn't very full at the time, so there was plenty of space-just be warned to make yourself very visible at breakfast time or miss out on the promised breakfast of donuts, which was included in the price when I was visiting.
Having said all this, I had absolutely no complaints about the cleanliness of the place, and I'm always happy when I can have a bathroom (and a clean one, with limitless hot water at that) all to myself! It's just about the only budget accommodation in Atlanta and is only a short walk from the Marta station. Also, for any Gone with the Wind fans, it's just a hop from the hotel where all the stars stayed for the film premiere and not too much of a walk to the Margaret Mitchell House.
