This is a timeshare property, and we were expecting much better. The room was extremely small and not very well kept or clean. We have stayed in better hotel rooms. The partial kitchen was extremely small and not modern.

The bed in the room was directly in front of the air vent, one of those older kinds on the wall, and it blew air directly on that side of the bed to the point of not being able to sleep over there, and it wasn't much more comfortable on the other side. We asked for another room, which, the next day, was finally addressed. They tried to move us to another room with the exact same bed design, so we just stayed where we were and tried to make the best of it. This resort does not deserve to be in the RCI family of timeshares, and I will never stay here again.

We had a wonderful, newly redecorated two-bedroom condo with great views of Gatlinburg and the mountains. It had great resort amenities for a resort in a great location. There are not many resort-sponsored activities, but just enjoy the area..

Best Things Nearby:
Dinner shows in Pigeon Forge. The parkway scenery doesn't get any better. Alamo Steakhouse (a local favorite) is a great place to eat.

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
This resort is 20 years old or so, but the rooms are very nice, with fireplaces, and the service was fantastic; the hosts were very hospitable. It's close to downtown, within walking distance, and on the Trolley route.

The playground for the children was nice, as was the parking area (parking is in short supply in Gatlinburg). The waterfall was very beautiful also.

Location

Resort Experience:
We stayed in a two-bedroom unit lock-off which was very old and outdated. The second bedroom had a very old television (dial, no remote), no chairs, and no mini-kitchen; it was much like a hotel room. Furnishings were very worn, and some were in need of repair.

We had issues with no hot water, and after calling maintenance, I was told to let it run 12 to 15 minutes. We had to do this each time we wanted showers or baths. We exended our stay by two days. We originally made reservations in February 2004 and stayed in December 2004, and Joel at reservations had us check out at 10am and re-check in at 4pm after 7 days there. He was very rude and not helpful when inquired about the reason for this and what he could do to work this issue out.

Best Things Nearby:
The city is touristy in a quaint way, with a variety of activities and many great restaurants. We enjoyed many of the activities, from the Ripley's Aquarium to a gondola ride up the mountainside. There is great local fare of all types, so skip the chain-type restaurants! It is also a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park, with white-water rafting, hiking, etc.

Best Things About the Resort:
While off on a side road so we could enjoy the sounds of nature (a stream coming down the mountain just off our balcony), the resort was a very brief (a couple blocks) walk from downtown Gatlinburg. A very great location!

Resort Experience:
We had a two bedroom unit that was actually a studio and one-bedroom joined by a door. The studio side had a partial kitchen & whirlpool tub, while the one-bedroom side had a full kitchen, whirlpool tub and fireplace. The unit and resort was very clean and seemed very well maintained. The bedroom and living room of the one-bedroom side had a balcony that looked out onto the mountainside, where a stream could be heard along with other sounds of nature. There was a linen exchange available daily for those who wanted it. The resort itself is multi-leveled (there are elevators), with parking actually underneath the resort. It's very scenic. There is a small playground area and a small pool which was nice for our son.
