Riverview Resort Condominium

Best Things Nearby:
The location of this resort in South Yarmouth makes all areas on the Cape within an hour's drive. There are great resturants close by.

Best Things About the Resort:
The staff bent over backwards to make our stay a pleasure and a joy!!!!

Resort Experience:
In all my travels, I have not made the mistake like I did this trip!! I scheduled the timeshare and the flight at different times, and bottom line, we arrived a week prior to our reservation. I found that out at the airport upon arrival, when I called to confirm their check-in hours since our plane was late. We had a two-bedroom unit for 9/16/2005 and we arrived on 9/9/2005. Realizing the mistake through a series of calls, a call back to the resort resulted in an extremely understanding individual working us into a studio for the week. He felt terrible that he couldn't get us a larger unit, but you know, we were tickled to have a place to stay! During the week, when two women moved into the unit next to us with three children under the age of 4 (who they had no control over and who yelled continuously), the staff moved us again to a studio unit farther away. They really worked to make things work out!!!

Our studio (both of them) was just that: a room with a couch, small table and chairs, mini kitchen area (small fridge, sink, toaster, and coffeepot), and a Murphy Bed. Over the years, we have stayed in a number of different timeshares on the Cape and all share the same utilitarian, clean, no-frills type of environment.

There are no activities, but the location is great!! The units on the back of the building have a very peaceful view of the river, whereas the units we were in overlooked the parking lot, but hey, we had a place to stay! Even the parking-lot view had a lot of nautical interest. They are in the middle of a major renovation project, and the roof was the focus during our stay.

Best Things Nearby:
Everything is within an hour drive from P-town to Falmouth.

Best Things About the Resort:
Everyone was so nice and helpful, and the location and platoon boat were nice. It's on a dead-end street.

Resort Experience:
This is an older resort, but very clean. The one-bedroom was great; you can lock it off to a studio and hotel room. I loved having two full bathrooms. They were surveying the property when we arrived. They are renovating everything from the inside out. We really enjoyed this place. There is an indoor pool, a Jacuzzi, and barbeques outside, along with a sun deck. It is very quiet at night. It's not fancy, but it has a very good staff and good location. Pirates Cove is on the corner, as is Skippy's. Christopher’s is within walking distance. You can fish across the street on Parker River. We will definitely come back.

Captain Parker's Restaurant and Pirate's Cove mini-golf (across the street)

Best Things About the Resort:
It is newly refurbished, with pretty blue decor. It is in a good central location on Cape Cod (about halfway between Provincetown and Wood's Hole).

Resort Experience:
Our studio condo had a pull-down Murphy bed, which was really nice, because when we put it back up in the morning, we had lots of room in the condo. The condo looked newly refurbished (brand-new toaster, coffeemaker, and bathtub), and the decorating was pretty (a pale blue). It smelled a little musty, but I'm sure that's quite common on the Cape, and you didn't notice it except when you first walked in the condo from outside. We never used the pool or hot tub (too busy!), but it looked nice. There was supposedly a free boat shuttle to a nearby beach, but we didn't try it (it was cool and foggy while we were there).

The condo is centrally located to catch the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard (both are must-sees while on Cape Cod), and there's a whale-watching cruise out of Barnstable (about a 20-minute drive), which was great. We saw 60-foot and 70-foot whales right near the boat. There are many good restaurants nearby (several within walking distance).

Best Things Nearby:
Pirates Cove Golf is just at the end of the road. Pancake Man restaurant is also nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
Easy to get to. Nice indoor pool and spa. Staff is very helpful. Daily maid service. Large day room for kids.

Resort Experience:
I had read two negative comment cards on this resort, but I failed to see why. We were treated very well by the staff and the daily maid service is very nice. There is a very nice view of the boat harbour and plenty of nice things to do nearby. While this resort is not new and does show its age somewhat, it has been recently renovated and we found it very nice and comfortable.
