Stayed three nights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room and amenities were both top notch -- very much enjoyed the walk-in shower with window; hand held ( tip: it could have had a wall mount so you can take a hands free shower without the overhead nozzle ) and overhead shower. Enormous towels. Excellent radio / tv / computer set up. The only negative to my review would be the bed linen -- call me a peasant but I'm not into all enveloping down comforters. Also, memorize where the elevator bank is because in all the stylish black decor it sometimes vanishes. Be sure to sit in the Kennedy half-dollar lobby chair.

This is a great hotel, most of the time. Some of the desk clerks need to grow up. That desk is the wrong time and place for cruel jokes after a long flight. My room got changed because of the plumbing system. The toilet replacement in the previous room didn't help. Other than those uncharacteristic problems, the hotel was great.

Sofitel Los Angeles is located across the street from the Beverly Center and just minutes from other world-class shopping on Rodeo Drive and stylish Melrose Avenue, the Wilshire business district, and an eclectic mix of nightlife on Sunset Boulevard. Sofitel features 311 deluxe guest rooms and suites beginning at $359. The hotel also has 12,000-square-feet of event and meeting space, including a ballroom for banquets and social events. They play host to many of the participants at entertainment industry events who like the easy access to Beverly Hills and points further east or west. My suite had a fantastic view northward of the city the Hollywood Hills, and I liked the desk work area layout, made to look like a small library and with its own TV/video. The staff were extra-helpful, solicitous and pleasant. The access on foot to so many things in the neighborhood on La Cienega was a pleasure in a city where you usually do have to drive to do any two things.
