Hotel TER REIEN

The accommodations were amazing. The view from our room opened up onto a picturesque canal, intersected by a cobblestone bridge. The rooms were a bit more modern than the exterior betrayed, but this only enhanced the experience. It was the best of both worlds.

The location was ideal. Just far enough off the main squares to be quiet, but close enough that you felt a part of the scene. There were many wonderful pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk, and the prices were drastically lower than those on the squares.

The only noticeable drawback was the canals use as a tour route. Something to beware of if you request, or are given, a canal side view. The romanticism of the night before is easily replaced by the capatalism of early morning boats full of camera clutching tourists. However, if you're not a late sleeper and accept the fact that beauty attracts attention, you'll easily be able to look right past this minor drawback.

Hotel TER REIEN

The Hotel TER REIEN is situated along the banks of one of the most romantic canals in Bruges - the Sint-Annarei - and is only five minutes'' walk from the "Burg" and "Market" squares.

Our room overlooked the sweet St. Anne canal. The Hotel TER REIEN has 25 rooms, all equipped with bathroom, satellite television, radio and telephone There are 12 rooms that have canal view.

Very comfortable and clean accommodations. Being 5 minutes from the heart of the square, we enjoyed a very peaceful and quiet night''s sleep.

The buffet breakfast is available in both the breakfast room and on the terrace courtyard.

We found parking easily on the side street along the canal.

A walk along the the St. Annes canal behind the hotel brings you into the old section of the city where the poor and the laborers lived in the 19th century and before. This area is gradually being renovated as many young are buying up these charming homes and buildings. You will also find some of ther oldest churches in Bruges, as well as the sweetest tea shop, said to be the oldest in Bruges.
