Clean, spartan rooms in the Turkish/Russian neighborhood in Brussels/Bruxelles. Right around the corner from the Botanique Metro Station.
This place used to be Van Gogh's workshop, though I couldn't find any signs of it. There is a small courtyard, and the hostel serves snacks and beers for extra money in the evenings. During my stay there were a couple busloads of German high school students and many American backpackers staying there.
A nice, basic breakfast assortment (cereal, breads, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, hot chocolate) is included in the price of stay (21 Euros for a single with sink only). Towels and sleep sheets are also available for an extra fee.
You can find Centre Vincent Van Gogh on the web: click here. This is a pretty popular youth hostel that gives first priority to large groups, so it's best to make reservations in advance online or by phone.
