Best Things Nearby:
The golf. There were more courses than I could play in a year! Most reasonably priced from as low 90 Euros for two green fees plus buggy at Los Olivos Mijas International to about 60 Euros per person on the average. It was wintertime when we went there, so there were not too many shops open, but there was the Marina near Torremolinos, which had a decent choice of restaurants. We also played at Lauro golf course (118 Euros for two green fees and a buggy), which had a delicious sliced beef with mushrooms on garlic bread! Yummy! All the course marshals were friendly Brits and were all super helpful. We were an hour late for our tee-off at Los Olivos, and yet they allowed us to play when we arrived and started us off on the 10th hole without batting an eyelid! Then there is the Zoo at Fuengirola, which is worth a look-see if you are keen on animals. Entry fee was about 10 Euros per person. If you are a fishing enthusiast, there was the coast that came right up to the hotel property line. Depending on whether you mind driving, Marbella was a very beautiful town to visit with a square that was surrounded by orange trees and the shopping there was good, but the shopping in Torremolinos was better, in my wife's opinion.

Best Things About the Resort:
One of the best features about this timeshare was their golf department. They were very efficient and friendly to boot! Arranging golf was not only painless, it was a treat as they provide maps (which are definitely needed to locate the golf courses due to the severe lack of signposting!), made changes and enquiries while beaming a cheery smile all the time. The timeshare also had a very well-stocked supermarket right on site and the kitchen in the unit was fully loaded. Although the timeshare was satisfactory in general, the one-bedroom units only had twin beds, which was quite annoying. We would be careful to enquire about the availability of double beds in future. The hotel had pools and staff to conduct many leisure activities year round.

Resort Experience:
The Sunset Beach Club was easily reached from the airport and we would definitely recommend a rental car when visiting Costa del Sol. The winter weather was amazing, as it averaged 22 and hit a high of 25 in the day when we were there in 2003. Definitely a must-visit for good winter golf. Although we were there for a week, we sampled more English food than Spanish cuisine, which was good and reasonably priced when we had it.
