Sea Garden Acapulco

Best Things Nearby:
Restaurants and bars at the Mayan Palace

Best Things About the Resort:
Clean and friendly

Resort Experience:
It was great. The Sea Garden is smaller than the Mayan Palace, so everything you need is within short walking distance. We had the pool right outside our window. It was a short walk to the trolley, our own restaurant, a little market, and the beach. The staff was friendly and very efficient. If we needed anything, they were able to provide it right away. My only complaint is that they do not control the taxi drivers.

Sea Garden Acapulco

Best Things Nearby:
Great beaches, horseback riding, beaches parties, shops, restaurants.

Best Things About the Resort:
You can relax anytime of the day, sit out by the pool and do exercise in the pool and have your favorite drink.

Resort Experience:
My husband and I honeymoon each year. This year was very exciting because we exchanged a week to one of the places we have always dreamed of visiting: Acapulco. Last December 2003, my husband and I celebrated our 15 years of marriage on the sunny beach of Acapulco. We sent snorkeling, toured the Island and plus rented a jeep. I didn't know all of this was on the other side of the world.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. Partial kitchen was available where we kept snacks and drinks. We invited friends to sit around and visit in our room. Rooms were close to pool with beautifully landscaped surroundings. Very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Best Things Nearby:
The beach is close by and not overpopulated. If you yearn for the amenities of a large-scale resort, you can take the shuttle to the Mayan Palace and use their facilities (resorts are affiliated).

Best Things About the Resort:
The suite was very spacious and clean. It is small enough to have the level of personal attention and privacy.

Resort Experience:
The Sea Garden is only a few miles from the airport, but a pretty good distance from the city of Acapulco, about a 30-minute ride by car. We rented a car (very expensive by U.S. standards), but were thankful to have the car for getting around and doing side trips. There is a Costco membership store very close to the resort (two to three miles), so don't forget to take your membership card! The variety of different cuisines in the restaurants in Acapulco is amazing--not just tacos and enchiladas. Try to take a day trip to Taxco; it's an incredibly beautiful colonial town about a four-hour drive by car or tour bus. The sights and shopping are fantastic. If you think that Acapulco has a lot of VW beetles, wait until you see them in Taxco, whizzing up and down the steep, narrow streets of Taxco!

Our room was quiet and cleaned daily and was spotless. The maids managed to come in while we were gone and were never in our way. They even folded the towels in fancy shapes and left candy kisses on our pillows. Our children slept on the couch/beds in the living room and the maids even made up their beds in the evenings. The pool had an activities director who tried to get the guests to participate, but the adults all preferred relaxing rather than expending unnecessary energy! It was a very relaxing place. We also spent time across the street at the Mayan Palace and even ended up buying a timeshare there. To say we were impressed was an understatement. There is a very high level of service at these resorts!
