Description: The hotel was very nice. It is in a fairly safe location along the beach. The rooms are large and very clean. The service is excellent and the rates are very reasonable. The hotel isn't a luxury establishment, but it is better than most for the price. A step-up from Holiday Inn for sure. The hotel has a couple of fantastic pools right off the beach. One of them even has a bar smack in the middle of the water. You can sip a piña colada under the shade of a palm in cool water up to your waist. The Continental Plaza also has a private beach with umbrellas for rent and fluffy beach towels (free for guests). They often keep music playing outside which I really enjoyed while I was soaking up the sun. The hotel restaurant (off the main lobby) has killer fresh fruit shakes. The most refreshing thing I have ever tasted in my entire life was the watermelon shake I had one morning with my breakfast. Also, the food at the restaurant was remarkably good for hotel fare.
