The unit was spacious and had a full kitchen. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable, which is a bonus since I don't have the best back. There is no air-conditioning, but there are plenty of ceiling fans. Only one day it did get hot enough that I wished that there was A/C, but we did go in Australian spring. The CATV wasn't bad, and in the evenings they showed a couple of non-commercial-interrupted movies.
Resort Experience:The lake was surrounded by all types of birds. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the lorikeets in the morning foraging in the fruit tree behind our unit. Surfer's Paradise was a beautiful beach and had lots of cool shops. I bought a didgeridoo there. Brisbane is a very cool town - it is a big city with a beach mentality. My entire time here was about meeting friendly people. I was soooo lost getting to Cedar Lake, but a local went out of his way to show me how to get there.

Whilst we did not ride the horses, we all, and the kids especially, were very interested to walk up to the stables and see them. Also, one afternoon, our son Cam and his wife, Kieran, and their two little boys who were holidaying at Rainbow Bay on the Gold Coast, came and joined us for a great barbeque. We used one of the electric hot plates and the table, etc., in a cabana for this. It was a wonderful facility attractively located on the hillside near the lake.

The accommodation is very basic, but clean. The units are all two bedrooms, with full kitchen facilities and quite a big TV in all units. If you are a very fussy person who only wants the beast in their room and does not care about facilities, I would not recommend this resort to you for – to everyone else, go!

Kick off your shoes, wind down, and relax while you enjoy the peaceful country surroundings. This is a family-friendly, no-fuss place, a little out of the way but still close to the better-known beach-style holiday of the Gold Coast.
Oh, and you'll need a car.
