We were glad to have a car so we could explore all the surrounding areas -Monserrat is a must see if you go, although they are boaring a tunnel through the mountain to get to the top, and it is a bit noisy right now due to constrution. The drive up was spectacular.
Took the train in to Barcelona. We were there for two days, and would like to go back to see even more. Admired all the Gaudi works that we got to see - the apartment building was incredible if you appreciate architecture. The cathedral that is still being built is a grand work of art!
There is a Universal Studio Adventure Park in Salou for families as well as great beaches.
The people of this country were very friendly and from all the construction that is occuring on that whole coast I can see that others must find it attractive too. Additionally, the food prices in grocery stores and restaurants were very moderate.
I feel like I only scratched the surface of this area. I highly recommend this trip, it can be whatever you prefer and you will meet other people from all over the world.
