The Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines has got to be the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. It even beats the Ritz-Carlton in Washington D.C., which I had high expectations of, but was pretty disappointed.
Though I was in La Jolla in business and not able to experience many of the hotel amenities, I did take advantage of the view of the ocean from my balcongy as well as room service. The food was quite good and they had menu items that catered to guests seeking a "lighter, lower fat" meal.
Though the ocean is quite a hike from the hotel, almost all the balconies afford a view of it.
This was also the only hotel I stayed at in La Jolla that had an honor bar. This was nice since I was on business and arrived home from work at 10 PM only looking for a snack.
They also offer a free shuttle service within a certain number of miles from the hotel. You can book the service to take you to the UTC mall or any other place that is fairly close to the hotel. Since there is only a golf course and office buildings within walking distance of the hotel, this is an especially nice service.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is clean, you feel pampered, and it is about 15 minutes North of San Diego.
