The resort is nice. The maintenance staff was great. Our toilet was not working properly and they were at our unit within 15 minutes. The pool is a little on the small side, but it was crowded only one night. We went there at about 5:00 each night for about a half an hour. We have been to Washington many times (before children) and I would highly recommend this resort as a great place to stay when visiting this area. Also, it is only a 15-minute ride to Mount Vernon on a very scenic highway.

The resort has a hot tub and shares a small indoor pool with the Hilton next door, but the main amenity is access to a full service concierge to help you plan your sightseeing. Access to the D.C. Metro is right across the street, so you really don’t need a car to get to all the sights of the capital, and Metro fares are very reasonable (we spent $20 US for two people for three days of travel--no parking fees or hassle involved!) At night, you can definitely hear the train from your room, but if you enjoy that sound (we do) it actually makes for a very comfortable night’s sleep. The carved walnut king-sized bed is very comfortable, and the bedroom sitting area is a nice touch (the TV swivels so that you can watch it from the bed or the seating area).
