I really would avoid this place if you can. However, that said, I didn't see the motel rooms, as they were much pricier, so possibly nicer. And when in Key West, you won't be spending much time indoors.

There is nothing glamorous about these rooms. Painted in solid yellow semi-gloss, they are not what you would call spotlessly clean. Thankfully, they are air-conditioned.
The common area of the hostel consists of three umbrella’d picnic tables, a pool table with a thatched roof canopy, and various vending machines and storage lockers, all outside. There is a kitchen for your use with three refrigerators that are growing mold samples that would make Marie Curie jealous. There is also an indoor T.V. room strewn with a few uncomfortable chairs and a limited selection of used paperbacks. Bikes are available for rent at the front desk for $10 a day and there are maps and brochures for various sights abounding.
