Best Things About the Resort:
The Marina is outstanding - apparently the only one in Key West with floating docks. Tho' pricey it has everything a boater, fisherman and vacationer could possibly want waterwise. The young couple who owns the jet ski/boat rentals shop were extremely friendly and fun to talk with.
Employees of the resort were friendly (tho' a little inefficient). Our favourite, next to the jet ski couple, was our timeshare rep. She was fun, enthusiastic, extremely good with follow through, full of tips and tricks for the resort, Key West and general timeshare enjoyment overall. The check-in was quite efficient and the welcome drinks (alcoholic or non alcoholic punch) and hors d'oerves were a very nice touch.
Resort Experience:
We had an absolutely fantastic time. Tho' our 'studio' type room was a disappointment and many little things weren't in the best of repair (lights out, lighting extremely dim, spider webs hanging from the fan, very limited as far as soap, etc) it was fine for a last minute exchange in a very requested location for two people who lived on our boat most of the time we were there.
The welcoming drink/appetizer buffet was quite wonderful and there were a couple of very nice lunches provided for those who wished to participate at extremely low prices ($5) especially considering Key West dining prices! Tho' housekeeping left a little to be desired, the resort is beautiful. The regular 1 and 2 bedroom units are wonderful and have great views, of course! Our little studio had no view (trash cans) so I wouldn't recommend one for anyone wishing to spend much time in their room.
There are conveniently located grills for those wishing to bbq their own dinner and a nice fish cleaning area with very accomodating 'munchers' to eat up the discarded portions swimming below.
