There are plenty of wonderful places to eat on the island, lots of tours available, and so much history. Mel Fischer's Museum is worth the visit. The Conch Train tour was very good—a 90-minute narrated tour. Parking was a nightmare—the area below one of the buildings was being used for construction materials and workers who were repairing the docks and decks after Hurricane Rita went through a few days before. The places where parking was available were VERY tight. We had to back up three or four times to get in a space and then had to squeeze out of a barely open door.

Parking is limited, but this resort is within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, stores, Mallory park, and the marina.
I would love to own a week at the Galleon so that I could go every year.

Living in Palm Beach FL, we made the decision reluctantly to leave our boat home (there is a great marina at the Galleon) and enjoy our week as the out of area tourists do. WHAT A GREAT DECISION ! We discovered so many more things to do and met some wonderful people by spending more time at the resort than we would have if we had taken our boat. Everything we needed was right there.
If you are planning a trip to the wild, wacky, wonderful world of Key West, we both highly recommend the Galleon as the place to stay.

The service is exemplary, especially from the folks in the ownership department... they really took care of us and catered to our needs.
This place is the bomb. We loved it! My sister and her (now) husband own a timeshare here and visit every year. It is their personal vacation spot. The activities are plenty and fun... snorkeling, boating, sunset cruises, parasailing, or just hanging at the pool. The Galleon is a spectacular place to stay to enhance your Key West experience. These accommodations get a big thumbs up from our family!
