For the second half of our trip we stayed at the James House, one of two sister townhouses on Ebury Road. The two townhouses are located on the other side of Buckingham Palace Road in the Belgravia district. You can tell the difference in neighborhoods as soon as you cross to the other side of Buckingham Palace Road. These two townhouses are bit cozier and upper-scale. The price reflects that as well. They're very clean and there is a "no smoking" policy! I liked that.
We stayed on the 1st floor wich was a treat after being in a 4th floor walk-up. The double room had a private bath which was more modern and had recently been updated. The room had a TV and hairdryer but there was no telephone in the room. There was a phone on the entrance level. At the James house, a full English breakfast is served in a remodeled lower-level sun room, from 7am to 8:30am. Although, if you show up at 9am, there were still people eating and they will serve you. I must admit I am now hooked on peaches and scrambled eggs! Each townhouse only accommodates, if memory serves me right, ten rooms, so they do book up quickly. The rooms run from singles to family suites, so there is a variety. Most have a private bath.
