Wanting to live like the locals in Paris, or pretend to, we discovered a lovely apartment for weekly rentals on the 'A Parisian Home' agency web-site http://aparisianhome.com and booked it well in advance - in September 2002. Keeping in touch with the agency, we made necessary adjustments to our plans. In May 2003 we settled ourselves into our new home away from home in the Latin Quarter at few meters from the most important monuments (Notre-Dame is within three minutes walk, Saint-Michel square two minutes, St-Severin church a minute or so).

The apartment is in the 5e arrondissement, very close to the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district and the Luxembourg garden. It is in located on a typical old Parisian street, in the heart of the famous Saint-Michel area. Xavier Privas (1863-1927) whose name the street bears, was a popular French songwriter of the 1890s. The apartment has been under renovation recently, and it’s very well-lit and characteristic.

Unique Qualities: This comfortable, recently re-furnished one-bedroom apartment (48 m2 ) is in a building built in the beginning of the 18th century (without elevator , you’ll take steep and narrow stairs). The living room with a sofa bed for two people (160x200cm); color TV and CD player; dining area has a large glass-top table and chairs. Tiled floor; wooden beams on the ceiling in both bedroom and living room. The bedroom with two single beds (80x200cm) making double.

There is also an equipped kitchen (with electric hot plates, an oven, microwave and small fridge), open into the main room. In the spacious bathroom you will find a bathtub, sink and wash machine; toilet is in the bathroom too.

We had a wonderful time - the apartment was fabulous and the whole area is just perfect for a family holiday. We highly recommend the apartment and 'A Parisian Home' agency service.
