Pretty nice hotel.

I stayed here on a school trip to England just last week and I don't really have any complaints. It was clean, my bed was super comfey, and everything functioned properly including the shower which was pretty impressive compared to other hotels around the U.K. we stayed in. The lift is super slow, just take the stairs it's healthier anyway, and our TV would occasionally blur out but that seemed to be just in our room. But over all really good hotel plus it's in a good location right near Bayswater and Queensway tube stations!

No breakfast included

This hotel advertised breakfast included in the price, which is not true. What is included is coffee, orange juice, and a single white roll with jam. Adding 2 eggs to my roll and coffee cost 4pounds 20 pence. Other than misleading about the breakfast, this hotel is what you expect for the price in central London; old, small rooms, small beds, thin walls, etc. The hotel does not offer internet access. What they do offer is a shared computer in the lobby with dialup internet for 1 pound per minute. However, I discovered that I was able to access wifi from my room for a daily charge offered by some local BT wifi access point nearby. The signal was clear and allowed me to work from room without any trouble. The hotel is about 10 min walk from the Bayswater tube station. As long as you know what to expect at this hotel it is a good bargain when traveling on the cheap in London (except for the breakfast).

DO do better for less

This "Hotel" was severely overpriced. The most it had going for it was its really friendly and helpful night clerk, David. The day staff was dour and didn't really seem too concerned about the needs of its guests. It was well located close to Kensington Park and major bus and tube lines (Bayswater, Queensway) on Bayswater Road. Bayswater is an "economical" area to stay in. I put "eonomical" in quotes because I was just not prepared for the overwhelmingly back-breaking day-to-day essential expenses even at budget levels. London, even with the dollar spiraling out of control downwards, is simply the most expensive city I have ever been in. However, that having been said there are many hotels in this area which are just as adequate as this one. Do yourself a favor and find a hotel in this area other than this one. In sum, this hotel made Motel 6's seem like the ritz-carlton. One other thing, if you are not heterosexual do not stay at this hotel you will feel out-of-place and unwanted - look for an economy hotel in Vauxhall.

The Comfort Inn is a few blocks from the Bayswater tube station. The tube drops you off on a nice, brisk, shopping street. While walking the few streets to the hotel, you go through a quiet residential neighborhood. The rooms were clean, and the service was enjoyable. The rooms were quiet, and provided all the standard amenities one needs when away from home. I mostly used it as a convenient place to lay my head between running amuck on the streets of London.

The Comfort Inn Bayswater is a three-red diamond hotel situated near Paddington Station (good for arrivals from Heathrow), and with Hyde Park nearby, ideal for a morning jog.

The Comfort hotel is a former English town house in a quiet garden square. The location is convenient--it's easy to get to nearby Notting Hill (with great restaurants like the Notting Hill Brasserie) and Saturday's fantastic Portobello Market, as well as just a short walk or jog to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. Marble Arch and the Selfridges-end of Oxford Street are also within walking distance, although the major sites and galleries are a short tube or bus ride away.

The hotel itself is small, friendly, clean, and reasonably priced. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

The rooms are ensuite with basic decor, and have recently been refurbished. They are a little on the small side by American standards, but otherwise they are clean and comfortable. All rooms have a tea and coffee making tray, remote control TV, telephone, hair dryer, in-room safe, and electronic door locks.

There are conference facilities and lobby internet access.

The breakfast room is small, and you have to pay £5.95 extra for a continental-type breakfast. Standard rates for a double are £79 including VAT.
