Located on a quiet side street in the San Marco (a 5 minute walk to the square) this unassuming hotel is well situated for touring and relaxing. There''s a pretty little garden where you can have your breakfast when it's warm outside. It''s like staying in someone's palazzo. For a look, go to http://www.hotelflora.it/enindex.htm. This hotel is the jewel all the guidebooks say it is. Perfect location near San Marco, helpful staff, charming decor, beautiful courtyard, continental breakfast included. Single rooms extremely small (about 10X8). Bathrooms modernized but also extremely small. Rooms simply but pleasantly decorated and very clean. I have not seen any double rooms so I can''t comment on them. However, even if they are also very small, I would stay in this hotel again anytime. Nearby is the much-praised and more expensive Europa e Regina hotel, and of course many others as well. Flora has an elevator, a/c, hairdryers, tv, same-day laundry and drycleaning are available.
