We chose this location because it was all-inclusive and was supposed to be a mixture of international and local tourists. The rooms were small but very clean and well maintained. Our room had a microwave and a small refrigerator. The beds were hard but well maintained. The grounds around the hotel were very well kept and the beach was cleaned every morning. There were plenty of beach chairs and cabanas for everyone at the resort. The water sports were included with the AI package, and I do recommend the boogie boarding. Be careful, as there was a near-drowning incident of one of the guests while we were there.
The food at the hotel was not what was advertised by our tour company, FUN JET. The meals were supposed to be included, including the á la cart ones. This was not true. The buffet was the only thing that they allowed us to eat without an extra charge. The food was supposed to be a mixture of international and Mexican, but for the most part it was Mexican. There were beans at every meal, including breakfast, and there were always leftovers from the meal served before. We had to eat out most of the time, as the food was so bad, we could not eat it. The resort has two bars, but they only open one at a time. The bartenders are very friendly and serve the alcohol with a smile. They were glad to give me and another guy three bottles worth of tequila shots one night on one of my most memorable evenings.
Overall, I would say that this hotel is okay, but do not spring for the all-inclusive if you don’t like traditional, unrecognizable Mexican food. However, if you like to drink, it still may be the way to go, as they charge $4 for a mixed drink or a beer. If you do not go with the AI package, be prepared for the bus ride to go out to eat.
