This is an absolutely gorgeous destination to visit, and a fantastic hotel/resort to stay in. Most commonly referred to as "the Sierra" by locals, this all-inclusive resort offers the BEST in service, activities, and relaxation. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit, with a beautiful view of the vast Banderas Bay (where Puerto Vallarta is located). This is a quick explanation of the general hotel criteria that every tourist looks for: cleanliness, service, etc. For details on different aspects of the Sierra Hotel in Nuevo Vallarta please refer to the free form entry.
Our unit was immaculate in terms of cleanliness, service, and amenities. I would highly recommend a two-bedroom, as it comes with two rooms (with two full-size beds in each) and an adjoining living room in the middle, which also has a bathroom. So basically you have three bathrooms, three TVs, three balconies, three refrigerators -- three of everything -- and even though they say this unit is for 5-8 people, you could easily fit 10 people with the pull-out couch in the living room.
In terms of household needs (hair drier, iron & board) each room has a hair drier, and any other necessities can be brought up to your room with no hassle.
Since this is an all-inclusive resort, none of the units have kitchens, but with the variety in food and beverages, you'll be thanking the heavens that the only effort required of you is taking the elevator down.
In terms of service, the service in every part of the hotel was fantastic, from the bartender, to the food service, to the activities staff. Pertaining to the housekeeping in particular though, one of the things we liked best was that there was no need to rush out of the room by noon, and there was no one consistently banging on the door to see if you've gone. Housekeeping will immaculately tidy up your room, no matter how late you sleep (no dirty looks given by the maids either).
Overall, this is an amazing place for any singles, couples, or families to spend their vacation. We sure saw all kinds of families, couples, and singles of all ages -- and there was something for everyone.
