Grand Velas All-Inclusive

The 5-star "Grand Velas" in Puerto Vallarta, is a beautiful, all-inclusive resort that I definitely would like to stay at again!

It took about 15 minutes to get from the airport to the resort. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with cold washcloths and a complimentary drink (non-alcoholic). We were able to check in immediately, and head to our room. The room was spacious and beautiful. We had a large king-size bed that was very plush and comfortable. The room also featured marble floors, a mini-bar, and a couch and coffee table. The marble bathroom was large and featured a Jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. The room also had a large oceanfront balcony with lounge chairs and a love seat. Our view was awesome!

The grounds of this resort were very lush and vibrant. Everything was very well manicured. Every once in a while we'd even see a peacock or two walking around the property. Some days there would be local vendors selling various souvenirs like clothing, jewelry, custom-made paintings, etc.

The pool area was gorgeous, and featured 3 infinity pools that flowed into each other. There was also a large swim-up bar that was convenient for when you didn't want to leave the pool to have lunch or get a drink.

As for restaurants, there were several ranging from casual to upscale. "Azul" was the name of the casual restaurant which served breakfast, lunch and dinner. They would even have a mariachi band that played for the guests on occasion. Then there were 3 dressier restaurants that served dinner only..."Luca" served Italian food, "Piaf" had French cuisine, and "Frida" was Mexican. Or, if you prefer not to eat at the restaurants, this All-Inclusive resort offers 24-hour room service.

This is a resort that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to take a trip to Puerto Vallarta. Not only is the resort big and beautiful, but the Mexican people are so friendly and very accommodating!

Best Things About the Resort:
Absolutely everything!!!!!!!!!!!!

Resort Experience:
The Grand Velas is one of RCI’s Gold Crown resorts and at the same time one of the leading hotels of the world. It is an all-inclusive resort with all the luxury you can dream of. It features different-sized amazingly furnished suites with ocean-view balconies, three swimming pools of different levels and temperatures, a private beach, a fantastic pool bar, three restaurants, and a world-class spa. I would recommend the Grand Velas basically to anybody who is seeking a luxurious and relaxing holiday. The resort has a pool bar, a lobby bar, and 24-hour room service, and it is all included in your all-inclusive package, so it is well worth trying it all!!!

Resort Experience:
When we first arrived at the resort, we were greeted by members of the hotel staff giving us a hint of the type of service that we would receive during our stay. The service was first-rate. Room service was prompt and courteous. While basking in the sun at one of the three gorgeous outdoor pools, we were served meals and drinks. We ate at the two five-star restaurants and could not believe that it was included in our package. We felt like we were in an episode of Robin Leach's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." The spa was nice, too. I received the aqua therapy treatment and thought I had died and gone to heaven. We enjoyed the beach. It was kind of private and not very crowded at all.

The hotel itself was fantastic. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and they had breathtaking oceanfront views. Our two-bedroom unit was around 1,500 square feet, which was much-needed space traveling with three kids. The exercise room was excellent, too. I did not use it, but it must have been good, because my wife went everyday and loved it.

Overall, this was one of the best resorts that we've ever been. The only drawback was that there were not a lot of activities for the kids, but our kids still had a good time.

Umm, it's in Nuevo Vallarta, so the beach was nice! It is a good spot. Very close to everything in Nuevo Vallarta.

Best Things About the Resort:
If you want a high-end, top notch, Gold Crown Resort, this is it! It is mandatory all-inclusive, but it is worth it!

Resort Experience:
Open-air lobby with a thatched-like hut roof! Marble floors, with beautiful, garden-like landscapings! An infinity pool -- one where the edge just drops off -- was awesome! A nice pool bar right by the edge, so you can watch some of the most famous sunsets! Restaurants weren't many, but they were quality! I had so much sushi and beer, I know I made up for my all-inclusive! Ha!

We didn't leave the resort much, but tours departed about 5 minutes from the resort.

Best Things About the Resort:
The service, food, and the resort itself. I am a spoiled traveller and have been to over 50 resorts. Never have I been treated as well as I was at this resort. The food was tremendous and had amazing variety, the service was impeccable, and the resort was pristine.

Resort Experience:
I went into this vacation being told that this was a top-of-the-line resort; so naturally, I couldn't wait to tear it down!! I tell you what; it lived up to my expectations and then some. The food was tremendous, the staff unbelievable, and the quality of everything was top notch. The worst meal I had all week was a $45 veal chop that was included in my all-inclusive fees. This is not to say that it was bad, just everything else was so good!!!! The first five couples I met were honeymooners that were all paying roughly $500 per night for their rooms. I smiled to myself as I knew I was paying half that amount, plus I got a free massage with it being an RCI exchange!!!
