Very nice. We had a studio reserved but requested two beds instead of one and a couch, and they accommodated us. We had a deck overlooking the lagoon/street side. Small kitchenette. Perfectly adequate, clean, and comfortable. I was required to enter a price above, but that's only a guess. I didn't pay since it was a timeshare exchange.

Best Things Nearby:
Hotel zone, clubs, and malls.

Best Things About the Resort:
Very friendly and accommodating staff, lots of activity, several restaurants, and good location.

Resort Experience:
Accommodations were perfectly adequate. We had booked a studio but, upon check-in, requested two beds and received it. Nice deck overlooking the lagoon. Really enjoyed sister resort as well, the Sunset Lagoon. They have a complimentary shuttle that runs all day and evening.

Pool areas very different. Very loud and full of activities at Royal Sunset, and relaxing and peaceful at Lagoon. Also, water sports available at Lagoon Resort. I didn't like temperature of pool - it was freezing and should have been heated. Also, there's no beach at all, probably a result of the hurricanes. All in all, an above average experience.

Best Things Nearby:
Senor Frogs is just a five minute walk away. Flea market was about 10 minute walk. Mall with Rainforest Cafe also 10 minute walk at most away.

Best Things About the Resort:
Service, service, service! The waiters made us feel as we were the Royal Family!!!

Resort Experience:
The beach is beautiful. The rooms are nice. Floors are tiled. Kitchen has microwave and burners, no oven (this is all inclusive anyway). Room refridgerator was stocked daily with beer, water, soda, and more. Dinner in the Atrium is an event - usually a two hour fiesta. The food is great. Our waiter cooked crepes at the table, served flaming brandy or anything we wanted.

We went with a group of 19 people and there was plenty for all to do. Tours can be arranged at the resort. We had a massage. The all-inclusive fee allowed for box lunches. We were even given a $14 credit per person to use at outside restaurants. We have enjoyed Royal Sunset the last two years and the group looks even bigger for next year!
