We were confirmed into a studio unit. The unit itself was spacious with a kitchen area, living area, bedroom area, great size bathroom, and a small balcony overlooking the pool area. The floors were tiled, which you find everywhere in Mexico because of the humidity. The unit worked for us -- the couch even folded out to a sleeper sofa! To work the air conditioner, you had to keep the balcony door closed; with it open, the air would turn off.

The resort was in a great location, located right on the beach, within easy walking distance to the bars, restaurants, and shopping! Check-in was a breeze!! We were met by the concierges and were provided with beverages to quench our thirst. By the time we got to our room, our luggage was there! The buffet restaurant worked for us -- there were many choices to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's not over the top, but filling! The bar at the pool was great! You knew exactly how much alcohol was put into your drinks. There were activities every day at the pool and around the pool. There were nightly shows and special dinners and even outings to the locals clubs!

This resort isn't the largest in Cancun, but I would recommend it as one of the friendliest in Cancun. The staff always went out of their way to say "hola" and make you feel welcome!

Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
We traded our timeshare in Cabo to stay at the Royal Sunset All-Inclusive. The rooms were dirty and uncomfortable, the grounds were poorly maintained and they hounded us every day of our vacation to sit through their 90-minute presentation. It got to the point where we didn't want to go through the lobby of the hotel because we were afraid we would get bombarded by the timeshare salesman. When we went to check out, they added on an extra $200 US per person for some strange "use tax." When we refused to pay, they said they would just run it on the credit card on file and there was nothing we could do about it. We ended up having to dispute the charge with our credit card company and it was a nightmare.

Best Things Nearby:
It's centrally located. About eight blocks away, there's a mall ("La Ista"), the riverwalk, shopping, food, theatre, and an interactive aquarium. About two more blocks away, there's "Kukulkan Plaza" (shopping). About five blocks in the other direction, there’s all the restaurants and nightclubs, and three more blocks away is "Plaza Caracol" (shopping).

Best Things About the Resort:
The best things are the location and the beach (not rocky and shallow, private and clean). At the "Chiquita Banana" restaurant you can have a dinner overlooking the sea!

Resort Experience:
It's kind of an old resort. It's a nice one, centrally located. Not even that it's a small resort -- it's well known and it's got a nice beach!

The best area of the resort is the Chiquita Banana restaurant. They need more variety on the menu for they restaurants as well as more seafood, but that's fine for a family vacation anyway -- you won't spend that much time at the unit.

The only problem with this resort in my experience and the reason why I wouldn't recommend it is because when they sell the all-inclusive they mention a lot of benefits --that are not true -- but they don't mention restrictions. You'll need to attend a sales presentation, be over 25, have a credit card, and pay 50% of the service you'll take -- that's really upsetting when you notice that and the worst is that nobody faces it!!!!

Absolutely beautiful views/scenery. Staff very helpful and entertainment outstanding! Close to transportation for shopping and sightseeing. The sister hotel across the inland water is an added bonus.

Best Things Nearby:
Just imagine the ten most demanded nightclubs, three shopping centers, the Hard Rock Cafe, and the bungee jump just two blocks away from the resort--can I ask for something better than that? And something very important, the Cancun International Airport is just 15 minutes away!

Best Things About the Resort:
I've been in Playa del Carmen and Cozumel before, but this one was my first visit to Cancun and the place I was assigned was simply great. The first impresion you get of the place is a great service provided by all the staff. They are really kind and they really take care of the visitors. One fact I can't miss is about the all-inclusive plan this resort offers because it's the cheapest of all Cancun and it really, really works, because if you take it they will include an incredible scuba diving tour to the greatest reef in Cancun. If you get it by yourself, it will be not less than $90 per person.

Resort Experience:
The resort is not really big, but everything is very centrally located and it has absolutely everything you need for your vacation. It is right on the beach and the restaurant located outside is just perfect if you like to see a beauty scene of the Caribbean Sea or an incredible sunset while you have dinner. All units have a little balcony and ocean view, so i don't think I could get something better and non-expensive like that.
