The accommodations were basic but suited our needs
perfectly. Don’t expect too much from the hotel. It
is clean and has facilities such as a washing machine,
but it’s not the Ritz. It is perfect for budget
travellers as the prices are reasonable and it is
situated near to the centre of town. The Policlinico
metro stop is a short walk from the hotel.
The hotel was practically empty during our stay, but
this was to our advantage as it meant the shared
bathroom on our floor was ours for the duration. The
only other party there checked out the day after we
arrived. In a city as bustling and noisy as Rome, a quiet hotel is hard to come by. The Raccuia is close enough to town for the amenities but is secluded sufficiently for a quiet life.
The lady who owned the property was a woman of few
words but she was genial all the same. A budgie was
kept in the entrance to the hotel that seemed
delighted at new people and was vocal in its
appreciation of that.
