We were greeted warmly by Melissa. She gave us a map of the city, which marked all of the sights, along with good shops, restaurants, gelato stops, and ATMs. It quickly got worn and torn. Melissa offered to give us another one, but we treasured the map with all her notes. The orientation was priceless. She told us what time to see the crowded sights to avoid lines and a few other tricks that I will keep to myself.
Our room was a good size, with a big bathroom. We had no problems with water pressure or hot water. I had done a lot of reading that had led me to believe not to expect much from a bathroom in Italy or anywhere in Europe. Other than the bidet, it was just like at home. The TV with CNN was a nice treat.
