Barefoot'n in the Keys at Old Town

Best Things Nearby:
Theme parks, little village of Old Town, restaurants, and supermarkets are very close by. There are activities for the young and old.

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice and friendly service, clean and neat accommodations, and a full-size kitchen with most appliances

Resort Experience:
QUOTE: "Kick off your shoes and relax at this casual resort situated in the heart of central Florida's attractions. The resort is less than three miles east of the main entrance to Walt Disney World(R) and less than 10 miles from Universal Studios and SeaWorld. You'll be in the center of all the fun. Neighboring the resort is Old Town, with 75 specialty shops, eight restaurants, 15 amusement rides, and classic car shows year-round. Resort amenities include fully equipped kitchens and partial kitchens, a swimming pool, a children's pool, clubhouse, hot tub/Jacuzzi, and volleyball court."

This is the description given by RCI for this resort, and we would have to agree for the most part. Florida is obviously a place for many travellers, and to find a nice little spot is usually the main factor. You can definitely enjoy the weather and atmosphere when staying at this resort.

Barefoot'n in the Keys at Old Town

Best Things Nearby:
Old Town, golf courses, and Disney World, of course!

Best Things About the Resort:
As the old saying goes, "Location, location, location!"

Resort Experience:
Our one-bedroom unit was very spacious -- the bedroom was as big as the living room! The "partial kitchen" left a lot to be desired, and I didn't even cook a meal (oh well, I was on holiday!). While it looked bright and cheerful on the outside, the place has not been well-maintained and that led to some grief -- being locked out of our unit for four hours, doors falling off their tracks, and quite a few bugs, among other things.

But the location was fabulous, particularly for people like us, travelling with two teenaged boys. Old Town is right across the street and there was always a party going on there. If you enjoy wandering the street with a bottle of Stella in your hands, people-watching, then this is the place to be! I visited Disney World during the days while my husband and the boys golfed. The kids spent a day at Universal Studios and we also went to Gatorland for the second time in as many years.
