Manhattan Inn Hostel

The hostel was fairly clean, each dorm room has an ensuite bathroom as well as a TV and phone, and a basic breakfast was provided each morning. However, the bunks weren't of the sturdiest construction, and the room I was in was tiny and the bathroom was even smaller (definitely no room to swing a cat - or anything else!), although other travellers reported that their rooms were larger.

Common areas were basically nonexistent - there was one very small space on the ground floor (could seat about 10-12 people), with basic kitchen amenities (but no more), only one internet terminal, and one phone for outgoing calls. (Phones in rooms were available for incoming calls only).

Although the hostel was conveniently located close to the subway, Madison Square Garden, the post office, and numerous other attractions, the area definitely had seedy undertones after dark, and I wouldn't recommend anyone walking the area alone after midnight.
