This was a fantastic accommodation with the deep green jungle coming right up to the surrounds of the property with small, hacienda-style buildings consisting of two to four individual rooms scattered among the grounds, and walkways through lush, tropical gardens. As a family, we were allocated one building of two rooms, so even though you had separate entrance to your room, they led off the same veranda, and you weren’t on top of anyone else.
It is within walking distance to the entrance of the archaeological site and the local hotel; it has a lovely, large pool, which is very enticing in the heat; and there is an absolutely incredible restaurant in a Hacienda-style, with large round table and a series of rooms with a few tables in each with huge, plate-glass windows with view of the garden. This restaurant is lovely with reasonably priced food. The hotel is extremely enjoyable and relaxing, as there are large verandas along both sides of the building and a huge lounge area with large; log-sized fire places; and deep, leather armchairs.
This accommodation had originally been used by the archaeological team who discovered and uncovered the nearby site.
