I traveled to Disney with 4 children alone. It was a great place to stay. It is on the monorail line so it is easy to travel to Magic kingdom and Epcot. The hotel was beautiful and we felt special, even though this is a huge hotel. We utilize the magic hour twice during this stay, it made entering the parks relaxing. I recommend using them.

The Polynesian seems nestled away in the corner of a South Sea island, but in reality it is only seconds away from the Magic Kingdom. The convenience of the monorail to the parks and other resorts is always a plus. The resort at night is lit up with tiki lamps and tranquil sounds of the "sea" (the Seven Sea''s Lagoon is right outside your window). Eat a Hawaiian style luau, relax in the many lounges, and enjoy waterside festivities.

We chose the Polynesian because of it''s proximity to the monorail and the Magic Kingdom. We made the right choice, it took us less than 10 minutes to get to the park from our hotel by monorail. The rooms were nice, not 5 star, but more than adequate. We had a beautiful view of the lagoon and Cinderella''s Castle. The bathrooms were super, shampoos and soaps depict Mickey and Minnie, the kids couldn''t wait to bathe! 24-hour cafe offered breakfast items and burgers, really came in handy. The grounds were spotless, as are all Disney properties, and the "beach" was pretty and restful. The restaurant O''hana''s was fun, but the food was pretty awful (overcooked shrimp, turkey, beef & pork), so unless you have $ to throw away, I''d avoid it. The kid''s club on property "Neverland" was nice, kids stayed one evening while we ventured out to Downtown Disney for a romantic evening. Kids loved it, security is tight. Maids left a different toy (beanies, coloring books, etc.) everyday for each child.

Staterooms (category 6) on board the ship were fantastic! Split bathrooms really came in handy for everyone to be ready on time. Must have thick walls, once door was shut you couldn''t hear a thing from outside, and we were next to the elevators! When maid left the room, the towels were always left in a cute design that delighted the kids. Only drawback was lack of closet space, so pack light.
