Disney Hotel

I love Disney hotels. They are all clean and nicely decorated. They also are on Disney property, which means free parking at the parks. They have transportation to all of the other resort areas.

I have visited all of the resorts, and I would have to say my absolute favorite is the Beach Club. The pool is the greatest of all of them. It is within walking distance to Epcot, which is my favorite park. It is also across the lagoon from the Boardwalk, which is great in the evenings. There are the bikes that you can ride around the lagoon to see all the hotels in the area. There is so much to choose from food-wise – not only at the Beach Club, but you can walk to the other hotels in the area. Just book yourself and don't go through a travel agent.

We had travelled here about 10 years ago. We wanted to go back, and since it had been refurbished, we felt that we had to go back for old time’s sake. We were not disappointed. We were traveling with our 6-year-old son and our 6-month-old son and had purchased the Dream Maker package. On check-in, there was no waiting at 1pm, and we were given a FREE upgrade to the preferred rooms. It always pays to ask. The room was clean and big enough for us and the baby's cot. The two sinks, as well as the curtain between the washroom and room, were nice touches. The maid service was fine, as the room was kept clean, but the time it was done was not consistent. One day, the maid was there at 9am, waiting for us to leave, and the next day it would be at 4pm. But it was always clean afterwards.

The theme pool was fun and needed since it got up to 100°F. My oldest son loved the water cannons. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well kept.

The food court was fine but did get crowded at the peak times. You quickly learned to avoid these times. The types of food offered kept everyone happy. This is not a sit-down restaurant, so keep that in mind and you will not be disappointed.

All in all, it was a great vacation. We would definitely go back to this resort.

This was my first time at one of the "moderate" Disney resorts, and it's my favorite level of resort. The "deluxe" hotels now just seem way too pricy for me, and you get much more bang for your buck going "moderate" than to the "value" resorts. The CBR is large, with 30-plus guest buildings. They are broken up into "villages" of about five units, and buses to the parks, and going around the resort itself, stop conveniently near the middle buildings of the villages. Each village has its own quiet pool and a beach area with volleyball nets and hammocks.

The rooms are nice. The basic rooms have a two-sink vanity, two beds, and air-conditioning and ceiling fans. My travel companion, John, works as a cleaning supervisor, so he was a little upset with the housekeeping, but the only thing that caught me off guard was that house services decided to "hide" my pajamas under my pillow one day instead of leaving them on the bed where I left them.

The main house, or Centertown, is great. There were times we happily spent just staying here. The main pool is in this area, which is great for all. Kids love the slide and the small waterfall, while adults can sit in a hot tub. All this is situated around a bridge that looks like an old Caribbean fortress, with water-dripping cannons and such. The water in this pool seemed better than in the pool at the All-Star hotels, so it was very comfortable for swimming. There is a small bar here on the pool deck, too, and a place where you can rent bikes and boats for to use on the resort's lake. In the main building there is a standard Disney resort food court, a restaurant (see the accompanying review for "Shutters" restaurant), an arcade, and a gift shop.

CBR is fairly centrally, located on WDW property, and the buses run frequently. Its location is part of why we first chose this resort. We had a great time here and were happy with how much the resort itself had to offer. We are looking into returning to Disney later this year and almost definitely will stay at the CBR again.

This is a moderate hotel that has a few more amenities and a little bit larger rooms than the budget-priced hotels on the Disney property.

The rooms have an island feel to them. They are decorated in tropical colors and patterns. The bathroom is well-equipped, and the dressing area has a curtain - great idea for privacy. There is also a mini-fridge and wall safe, which is nice for your valuables.

The hotel has six heated pools, so your room is never very far from a pool. The main pool has a waterslide and is located just outside the food court. They also have characters, hair wrapping, and temporary tattoos for the kids.

There is an arcade, a marina, a jogging trail, volleyball courts, and bike and watercraft rentals here as well. There is something for everyone to do. And the best part about staying on property is that you can come back to the hotel via the complimentary Disney transportation to take a break in the middle of the day. They have a white-sand beach with hammocks that are great for an afternoon nap!

The staff is a typical Disney staff - always friendly and helpful. In fact, we ran out of shampoo, so I left a note for housekeeping requesting more. When we returned, we had our shampoo, but she had also made a little doll out of washcloths for my daughter. Every day when we returned from the parks, our room was clean and in great order.

The main lobby reminds you of a big island hotel with all the fancy woodwork and gardens. Check-in was a breeze (we ordered our package online at disney.com). They offer the option to have your Disney pass linked to your credit card. We didn''t realize how this worked until the last day when we saw someone using theirs. Thinking back, I wish we would have done that - they can be used anywhere in the park.

When we got to our room, we were suprised. while the rooms were beautiful they were fairly small. The service was awesome. Our showerhead was spraying funny and getting everything wet. We called the desk and they came up in less than 5 minutes. The "cast members" were all pleasant and made the vacation a real fantasy.

We did, however, decide that in the future, our money would be better spent on one of the all-star resorts, since they have most of the features of the more pricey resorts, but just not as fancy. Since you spend most of your time out and about, we could have either spent less or spent about the same and got an extra day. Would I stay at a Disney resort again? No doubt about it! I am giving this a "Recommended" rating because the resort is definitly worth another visit, but I will choose one of the all-star resorts in the future to get more use out of my money.
