Animal Kingdom Lodge

I chose this hotel for its view of the animals. We paid extra for a Savannah view. I was disappointed in the selection of animal that came by our room while we were in it. We did wonder around and see the animals in other area. Animal Kingdom has a specific set of animals that are assigned to the lodge. We went on the Animal Kingdom breakfast safari. I totally recommend that. It is worth the $50.

We splurged and booked a savannah view, figuring we would stay fewer nights in a more upscale hotel. Each night, we would buy a pastry at a bakery, and each morning we would brew a pot of coffee and split the cinnamon roll (etc.) on the balcony, watching the giraffes, zebras, etc. We wondered if it would be worth it to pay the extra money for a savannah room, but this morning ritual made our hotel an extra theme park for us. It really was extraordinary.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is UNBELIEVABLE! The hotel itself is so incredibly nice. The lobby is just amazing. It is truly a masterpiece. The views out of the back of the lodge of the savannah are breathtaking, especially with all the animals. I thought that maybe we would see one or two animals around occasionally, but there were plenty, and all kinds. The pool is incredible, with a water slide. Overall, just a very nice place to stay. Can be a little expensive, but definitely worth it. We didn't stay here on our most recent trip, but we did stay here two years ago on another trip to Disney. Wish we could have stayed here again, but budgets do change.

After a week in a timeshare, my wife and I stayed one night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. As expected at all the Disney resorts, we were treated like royalty. The accommodations were beautiful. We had a fantastic view of the savannah and all the animals that resided there. I highly recommend this resort to all who like a very subdued, quiet atmosphere and the enjoyment of viewing animals.

This is truly a 5-star resort unlike any other. The lobby alone will take you hours to explore.

I recommend paying the extra money and getting a savannah view room. You get a private balcony where you look down on real, live African animals. The rooms are bright, large and comfortable. The bathrooms are gorgeous with granite countertops and tile floors. The beds were very comfortable and roomy.

The staff are typically Disney staff -- ready and willing to cater to your every whim and always with a friendly smile and attitude.

There are two authentic African restaurants you simply must try. One is modern and the other is traditional and served buffet/all-you-can-eat style.

The pool was large and had a waterslide. The spa was great and the massage was to die for! Plus they have kids activities which gives the adults a chance to pamper themselves in the spa.
