Disney's Old Key West Resort

Best Things Nearby:
OKW is on Disney property, so all the Disney theme parks are close by. You can ride a boat/walk or take a bus to Downtown Disney from this resort.

Best Things About the Resort:
I like the relaxed atmosphere -- it is in the middle of WDW, but it feels like it is 1,000 miles away. I really love the whirlpool tub. Also, Disney makes sure the tub stays in the bathroom (it does not make it part of the one-bedroom), so it feels more private. There is a window you can open and if you don't like the privacy. It is up to you.

Resort Experience:
This is a beautiful resort. I like a water view -- I have seen all types of water birds and the birds that hunt them -- eagles, hawks, and falcons. The water view is very relaxing.

This resort has activities for adults and children alike, but mostly for children. I don't think they have enough for teenagers, but since DD with Disney Quest is just a walk away, that doesn't seem to be a real problem. It is my niece's favorite to place to stay when we visit WDW -- she is 13.

Disney Vacation Club's Old Key West Resort

Disney's Old Key West Resort is part of the Disney Vacation Club at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida.

This resort offers timeshare units that can be rented, if space is available, to non-vacation club members. Studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units are offered. This was the first Vacation Club resort built by Disney, and seems to offer larger rooms and balconies than the subsequent Vacation Club resorts.

As is usual with all things Disney, it is a first-class resort. It is located on Disney World property and is therefore included as a stop within the Disney World bus transportation system. There is also a small shuttle boat that transports guests down the canal to Disney's Market Place.

The resort overlooks a golf course and is quiet and relaxed.
