Description: Best Things Nearby:
Must be 120 golf courses in the area! SHAG dance lessons on Main street downtown, they had the street blocked off for a SHAG convention. The crowd was there night and day, ages were 40 to 70, not teenagers!
Best Things About the Resort:
First thing we received was a goodie bag of necessities: coffee, trash bags, bathroom paper, and a golf discount sheet among other items! Had a nice, large Jacuzzi at the main outdoor pool. It had an indoor pool as well.
Resort Experience:
My honey said it was ' an Unbelieveable Experience', and she enjoyed the entire week there. We had never been to North Myrtle Beach before, but we will return. (We bought another time share there.)
The golf, the ocean beach, the dancing, the boat casinos, the restaurants and things to do were all excellent and less expensive than the Orlando area!
North Myrtle Bch is easy to get to: from Atlanta we drove on I-20 to Florence, SC, then we took 501 to HWY 22 (short cut saved 45 minutes?) to North M. Bch area. Huge sign on HWY 17 said "THE LINKS". Easy find.
After getting the golf coupon sheet listing 50 courses with THE LINKS DEFENDER VIP discounts, we did not need all those coupon books all the other tourists carried around with them. Made it quite nice!
We sailed on the small ship 'Southern Elegance' though it was a bit choppy in the Atlantic Ocean.
We ate out most every night. Liked Phillips but our favorite for seafood buffett was Capt. George's located near Broadway. Also saw a broadway show at the Palace Theater. We wanted to see the Alabama theater but was sold out the day we planned to attend. We did take some pictures in Ripley's Aquarium but wish we had taken a lot more photos to share with all RCI members. We did enjoy Ripley's aquarium and the feeding of the sting rays.
