Parking is very limited and extremely difficult to navigate with my SUV. Overflow parking is across the street and up the hill.
Riptide II looks a bit nicer than Riptide I (if that's possible). The building seemed like it was under construction or never finished. Plywood on the walls, unpainted, etc. The smell was awful, both in the halls and in the rooms. Rooms were dark. Bedspreads and curtains were old and stinky. Pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long while.
The best part of the resort was the view. It is on the beach. While it is convenient to restaurants and shopping, it is also right in the "heart" of the action...a bit too many people and cars, etc. I prefer to have a little more elbow room on the beach. For that reason, I've learned to look into North Myrtle Beach, Surfside or Garden City for future stays.
Many of the properties on Myrtle Beach seemed to be in the same state of disrepair as Riptide. I checked out several hotels and timeshares and found the rooms to be small and dingy.
I would rate this property on the same level as a one- to two-star motel. Some people love staying here. I need a little better.

There is one BBQ grill and several tables and chairs. There is very little parking, you have to go about 1/2 a block to a parking garage which is shared by other hotels.
They had some activities, the best one was the happy hour and my husband went golfing with the staff on Wednesday.
I was dissapointed that the condo only had one TV and one phone, both located in the living room. The sofa/sleeper was very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs. The bedroom was closest to the beach and overlooking the pool. 3 out of the 7 night we could hear people partying until at least 2:30am(even thought it closed at 10). There is NO secruity guard on site so you have to call the answering service. You have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the elevator, and then walk up another flight of stairs to get to the rooms - we took the stairs most of the time.
The check in and check out was very simple and quick. If we wouldn't have had an ocean view this resort would have been really lacking. There is Riptide 2,right next door but we didn't look into any rooms. I would suggest to NOT visit Myrtle Beach during Memorial Day weekend due the the rowdy atmosphere on the beach with all the bikers.
