The Cliffs at Peace Canyon

The Cliffs are a nice resort... BUT... There always seems to be a but, doesn't  there? I'll start with the good.

Check-in is very smooth and fast. The service is very friendly and helpful.

All the place is very clean with the basic amenities that you would expect from a timeshare in Vegas. Pool with spa, pooltable and exercise room. One nice thing that they do have is an outdoor fireplace that you can congregate with other people. It is also a gated community so there is that added safety of needing a key to get in the premises at night.

The rooms are nice and nicely acquainted. We had a 2-bedroom unit. All the furnishing were quite nice, the appliances were top notch and modern. Another plus was that the units had large capacity washers and dryers in room. One thing that I did find a bit lacking were the bedroom sizes and the bathrooms. Both bedrooms were smallish with only queen beds and despite only having queen beds there was little room for anything else but the bed the 2 night stands and an armoire that held a TV. Though the closet in the master bed was a large walk-in type. The master bath had just the older type of shower/tub combo though was quite clean. The other bedroom was even smaller with an even tighter fit around the bed. The other bath only had a shower.

And now it's time for the BUT. And a big BUT it is. The location of the timeshare. It is way west almost in the Summerlin area (actually it might even be in Summerlin) so even during a no busy time of day, it might take you a good 15 minutes to get to the strip; and if it is a busy time of day and year it could literally take you more than an hour. Cab fares would be hellacious to and from this place going to the strip or Fremont. So if you do decide to stay here it would be wise to bring a car or rent one. Going to the strip the best way would be to get on the 215 South then connect to the 15 North rather than trying to take Flamingo all the way down.

The apartment was excellent, very comfortable, TV in lounge and bedroom, full kitchen, great. The downside is its location, it does not have a bar or restaurant, and there is only one bar nearby within walking distance, the bar however is very friendly with excellent steaks and burgers, and if you play the machines which are set in the bar, the drinks are free.

Across the road is a shopping mall for food and drinks, when it's finished, it will probably be very good. A car is a must, the resort does have a courtesy coach to the Strip, but you are limited by the times it runs and they only have coach with approximately 15 seats.

The accommodation was good. The apartment was well equipped and spacious, although there was not a very scenic view. The surrounding area is being developed and should provide good shopping and dining in the coming months. It was nice to get out of central Las Vegas for a change of pace, but be aware that it took 20 minutes drive to get into the centre from the resort. The pool was adequate but not substantial, and by September the evening breeze could be strong and somewhat chilly in the shade.

Fabulous! Rooms are neat and clean. The colors are vibrant, and the kitchens have all the utensils and clean supplies that we need. All I had to get was the food. Even movies are available at the front desk. Coffee is in the lobby all day, and there is a pool and TV room. The outside barbecue area is large and available.

Best Things Nearby:
Grocery, Sears, movies, bars

Best Things About the Resort:
Very clean, close proximity to shopping, free shuttle to the Strip, free movie rental in house, nice pool, large barbecue area, and the rooms are fabulous!

Resort Experience:
Even though it is listed as a one-bedroom, you can easily fit six people. The couch pulls out to a bed, and the closet is a mini bedroom. The kitchen is large, and the dinner table is beautiful. There is a free shuttle to the casinos and grocery stores. This is not close to the Strip, so I do not recommend this place for the partygoer, but it is the perfect vacation spot for the relaxed vacationer. This place is beautiful and quiet.
