Description: Best Things Nearby:
The solitude. When staying at The Cliffs at Peace Canyon, you won't hear the hustle and bustle from the strip. Here is a place that takes you away from it all -- literally.
Best Things About the Resort:
I like the fact you can get the best of both worlds while staying at The Cliffs at Peace Canyon. They offer free complimentary shuttle service to and from the strip and even to a grocery store!! If visiting the strip your sole purpose of visiting Las Vegas, then leave your driving worries behind. The Cliffs at Peace Canyon will take care of all this for you.
And let's not forget their elegant units. This resort really outdone itself with its desert oasis decor.
Resort Experience:
I am posting this journal separately from my Las Vegas journal. I believe The Cliffs at Peace Canyon needs more exposure. I have found out there is not much information or pictures on the internet that pertains to this resort. Hopefully, the pictures will help you get a general idea of this resort.
First of all, we did not stay here. We have bought this timeshare sight unseen. Since we've already planned to go to Vegas and stay at the HGVC Flamingo, we've decided to take a look at our newly purchased home resort -- The Cliffs at Peace Canyon. We spent about two hours here, browsing and learning. Here are some of the things you might find of some interest when making your decision about The Cliffs at Peace Canyon.
TRANSPORTATION:
We simply called the resort to have a shuttle arranged to pick us up at the Mirage. The shuttle's departs beginning at 12:15pm and ending at 10pm, seven days a week. The final pickup from the strip is at 11:30pm. Their shuttle stops at: Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Circus Circus, and Freemont Street. It also conveniently stops at the Smith's grocery store if you are staying at the resort. Seating is limited and reservations are required. After talking to the shuttle director, he did mention they are fixing to upgrade their van into a shuttle bus that has an aisle down the center. This will definitely
be a nice feature to have.
UPON OUR ARRIVAL AT THE RESORT:
It is about 20 minutes from the strip. If you are looking for some peace and quiet, then this resort will serve its purpose tremendously. To be perfectly honest, you really don't need a rental car here IF you are ONLY going to the strip and/or grocery store. If you plan to go to other areas, then a rental car IS necessary.
When we arrived, it was a pleasant sight. It is a bit out of the way, but in an upscale neighborhood. There is a Target close by and soon a Wal-mart Supercenter nearby as well.
LOBBY:
Entering the lobby, you'll notice a billards table on the left. Also on the left is the clubhouse. Hospitality Desk is located straight ahead. Their computer room, which is located off the main lobby on the right side, is available 24 hours. Internet access is available at no charge.
AMENITIES:
The pool/spa are open 24 hours. The pool is heated to a comfortable 83 degrees. The spa temperature is a relaxing 103 degrees. By the
way, smoking is permitted in these areas only.
There is also a barbeque area that has four gas grills. They are located just behind the fitness center building. Their fitness center featurures cardio equipment, universal machine and a stretching area. For more relaxation, this resort also offers an outdoor fireplace. Very unique.
When we toured here, it seems like this resort is geared towards an adult environment. There aren't very many on-site amenities at The
Cliffs at Peace Canyon. Young children and teenagers may find this resort a bit boring. They do offer a variety of board games, which are available at the Hospitality Desk.
UNIT:
We own a one bedroom unit, which is over 900 sq. ft. Not sure how much the square footage is in a two bedroom unit. Our first impression of the unit was "elegance". It is very, very nice. These units are professionally decorated in a desert oasis style theme.
Each units offers nine-foot ceilings that enhances clerestory and transom windows. There are ceramic tiles in living areas. I found
this a bit unusual. I prefer carpet, but seeing tiles in their units, it didn't look bad at all. (You might need to take this into
consideration if you have a small child that is in the crawling phase).
- Gas fireplaces with tile hearths are in some units.
- Full-sized washer and dryer in every unit.

Overall, we felt like we had made a very wise choice in our purchase with The Cliffs at Peace Canyon. I really don't want to rate this resort until we've actually stayed on-site. Meanwhile, we can't wait till we can stay at our home resort and visit Las Vegas again!!
