My first experience at Ocean Key was a sincere and upbeat welcome by the doorman at my Taxi. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The bellman offered a tour of the sprawling grounds as he took me to my room. My room was clean, colorfully decorated and very comfortable. The bed was not too soft or too hard. Each room has a nicely sized deck. The rooms facing the ocean have a perfect view of the famous Key West sunsets. The pool is a good size, not huge, and there is a large hot tub. The pool area has about 45 cushioned chaise lounges and small tables between each. It does not have a pool bar, but their is ever-present wait staff to bring pool side cocktails and food. The hotel bar is the Sunset Pier bar and grill. It is a round "Tiki" style bar and the tables extend out onto the pier. This is a great location to watch the sunset. I didn't eat at the restaurant. There is a concierge table to help with any activities you want. There is a gift shop. The watersports are just outside the front door, you can rent motor scooters across the street. There is a CVS next door for water, snacks, etc. It is centrally located next to Mallory Sq., it's the start of the Duval St restraurant/ bar scene, and harborwalk is only a couple blocks away. If you want to be in the center of it all, this is the place. If you want quiet get-away and don't mind taxiing to the center, stay on the other side of Duval st. P.S. After you empty your wallet on Duval St, try Pepe's on Caroline St. for the $1 Yuengling beer.

Was a little worried about the resort as I booked on-line, but my worries were soon put to rest as it was a great resort, beautiful location and views. Would stay here again. The staff were very helpful and nice. All I can say is I had a great time, at a great resort , in a great city.
Nice Hotel but overpriced

Thought it was over priced even with its location otherwise a very good trip employee's were very curtious and helpful. Price would most likely keep me away next time.
Great trip

Stayed in a junior suite over looking Duval st. but was actually looking at the ocean and Duval. Great people watching and right in the heart of the action but high enough to be in a private setting. Room 208. Very large, clean two room suite with a jetted tub if you like that sort of thing. Great private balcony. Pool is top notch, just be aware of the harmless homless at night watching you from beyond the fence at mallory square, little freaky but harmless. Great food at the Hot Tin Roof. The Pier food is your typical bar food but good for a hangover. In general, happy people, great location, fun, fun, fun! will return for sure!!!
Don't be wary, book now!

We read many reviews from different four star hotels, and decided upon the Ocean Key for our first anniversary. It was a great desicion. As an avid traveler I have stayed at some of the greats. This one is one of my favorites. We had a Junior Suite with a partial ocean view. The room was immaculate, and smelled fresh. It was bright and sunny with a tasteful Carribbean
decor. The bathroom was spacious with marble floors, double porcelain sink, and a very clean jacuzzi tub. The bed was very comfortable, king sized, and the mattress felt like memory foam, firm but soft. Lots of closet space, and central air. The open living room area included a sleep sofa, hidden fridge, and a plasma tv. The lanai was my favorite spot, where we could both view the ocean to our left, and look down Duval Street to our right. It is spacious with comfortable chairs and a small table. The location is ideal. It is at the end of the "main drag".
There are many conveniences such as a CVS, Wachovia, Boat Rentals, also fine and casual dining nearby. We ate at Bistro 45, A & B Restaurant, and the Commodore. All were fantastic.
We will be back
