We visited Avignon for three days. As we had an early (0620) flight out of Marseille Airport, we wanted to book a room nearby. When we arrived about 8 pm for our stay, the desk clerk was very friendly and did not scoff at my poor attempt to speak French. He just spoke very good English and was very good at explaining the airport shuttle. First trip is 0500, and if the van is not there, it would be no more than five minutes to return. The room was as requested when we arrived. The extra bed was a single folded up to be a chair. The "double" bed was actually two singles, but acceptable. The bed was fine for a tired traveler, but my wife said she did not sleep well on the bed.I noticed there was no clock, so we called for an automated wake up call which came at the requested time with no problem. We went right to bed when we got there and left early in the morning, so I cannot comment on the other amenities. I did look for a vending machine for water or coke, but the desk said there was none. My overall impression is that this hotel is overpriced, but I don't know what the others have to offer. And it is fairly modern. I don't have any specific complaints. As a side note, the hotel is very close to the airport. We could see it across the street when we walked out of the terminal. I was interested to see if we could walk to the terminal rather than take the shuttle. But there did not appear to be a sidewalk along the road, and we probably would not want to walk in the dark early morning anyway.
