Custom Hotel

The Parking sucks! There's no self parking. The room was mediocre, at best. The price was too high for Valet Parking. Needless to say, I will not ever stay there again, or recommend this hotel to anyone! It reminds me of a cheap motel. I was totally disappointed! The Breakfast was good. Definately not a 3.5 Star Hotel. More like a 2.

Missed the mark by a mile!

I really did not know what to expect. It appears that this hotel attempts to be swanky, but comes off almost cheap and as if it is still under construction. The rooms were the smallest I had ever been in and there wasn't even a closet to hang clothes up. The front desk workers were apathetic, the service was OK, but I was deeply disappointed with the room size and amenities. I would never stay here again, this is a $-/night room at best.

THE HOTEL IS SET UP VERY NICE. (check the website pics) IT SEEMS TO CATER TO A YOUNGER CROWD (21-35 range). I DID SEE FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN THERE WHO SEEMED TO BE ENJOYING THEMSELVES THO. DOUBLE BED ROOMS ARE NICE AND SIMPLE. NO STORAGE CABINETS/DRESSERS LIKE MOST HOTELS SO PACK LIGHT OR DON'T BE MAD ABOUT LIVING OUT OF YOUR LUGGAGE. THERE IS A MINI BAR (fridge), SAFE, AND IRON + IRONING BOARD. THERE'S A HOTEL LOUNGE/BAR ON THE FIRST FLOOR PASSED THE ELEVATORS. FREE FOR GUESTS. DJs ON THE WEEKENDS. THEY ALSO HAVE A BAR/LOUNGE (Hopscotch) DIRECTLY ACROSS THE WALKWAY FROM THE HOTEL. FREE FOR GUESTS. CONNECTS TO THE POOL LOUNGING AREA ALSO. PARKING IS $22 EVERY NIGHT. WE FOUND PARKING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD ACROSS THE STREET BY KFC AND WAMU. VERY LEGAL. JUST DONT PARK WHERE THE CURB IS PAINTED RED AND READ ALL OF THE SIGNS. THEY ALSO HAVE AN AIRPORT SHUTTLE. RALPH'S (grocery) IS RIGHT NEXT DOOR, LITERALLY CONNECTED TO THE HOTEL. OPEN FAIRLY LATE FOR WHATEVER YOU NEED. (beer, wine, cigarettes, topical cream, cotton soft toilet paper, lip balm, or what have you). READ THE MAP LOCATED ABOVE THE MINI BAR IN THE ROOM TO PARTAKE IN ALL OF CUSTOM'S AMENITIES. (checkout the fourth floor). CHECK-IN IS AT 3PM. EARLY CHECK-IN IS $*. IF YOU HAVE IT, DO IT. IF NOT, GO EAT AT JACK-IN-THE-BOX. COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST ENDS AT 10AM. NOT GLAMOROUS, BUT IT IS FREE.

Great Location

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It has a funky modern vibe to it. It is located near LAX and tons of other great attractions. There is a Ralph's supermarket right next door, so we just walked over and got snacks instead of using the VERY pricey mini bar. The lobby is fun and the elevator rides are exciting (it makes wierd sound effects when it stops on floors...laughing, applauding, whisleling etc) It was very clean and the rooms are fun. Word to the wise...they charge $20 a day to use the valet. We didn't realize this at the time of booking, but it's still not a bad deal.

Unmade Beds

It appears that you need to tell the front desk if you want your bed made. This is the first I've heard of such notification requirement. Isn't hotel customary to have your bed made without a request? We returned to our room on our second night to find unmade beds and an unvacuumed room; however, we did get clean towels so someone came in our room. I called the housecleaning line and got a voicemail advising the supervisor was on another line and will call back if I left a message - I left a voice message and never heard back from him during the four nights we stayed at the hotel. On my way out that evening (2/5/09 @ 7 - 7:30), I inquired at the front desk and was told with an attidude by the girl behind the desk that housecleaning will not enter their guest rooms unless requested by guests. I noted that we did get clean towels so a staff did enter our room. She repeated her first reason, we around it a couple of times and she couldn't grasp that what she is telling me didn't make sense so I just let it go and requested that they make our beds going forward. I felt like I was being fed a bunch of stuff which made matter worse. Tell me the truth and fix it - I can eat that without complaints!! We came back a couple of hours later and our beds were still unmade. The lobby will WOW you, but the service and room will dissapoint you. They make excellent coffee.
