We had a wonderful stay. Our room was a bit out of date but it was clean and large with sitting room with tv and refrig., adequate bedrrom with king bed and dressing area and nice closet space. The view was beautiful! We would go again if we could have such a wonderful experience. Great for those with kids and grandkids. We would like to return with our grandkids.

I had a great time I will definetly stay again

I had a great time, the staff was very helpful and gave good advice on local attractions and points-of-intrest, the room was clean, there is a service charge of $15/person per day, valet service was available for $5 per day, also a parking lot was available for free across the street from the hotel (about 50 feet away). Scooters are available also for rent across the street. The beach behind the hotel was great, jet-skis and parasailing was available also. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, it has a great location, and is very close to downtown and attractions.

Our stay, and what you should expect

We couldnt afford the Alantis, and really needed a vacation. Our first in 13 years. We asked for a King Size Bed, smoking, as high up as possible, to enjoy the view. We got what we asked for...10 th floor, beautiful, clean room, looking over turqoise water. The renovated rooms are beautiful, and clean. The maid service was awesome...they cleaned every day, and everything. We didn't know what to expect, being our first time out of the country, and first time in forever for a vacation. The beaches were in good condition, granted the pool is not heated. They do close the pool early, around 6PM, and clean it too late in the morning, around 8AM. But you can use the Sheratons pool, and hot tub too, so it really equals out. There is NO lack of pools, in this resort area....or activities for the kids. You can pay twice as much too go to Paradise Island, but really...a beach is a beach there...They have a buffet style resturant there. Breakfast will cost around $18, lunch $25, dinner $35, with tip included. We'd each a huge breakfast, and not eat til dinner, cause they offered so much decent food. You can take a jitney for $1 and head either way out of the resort and get to food store, a KFC, BK, Outback or any pizza or sanwich place. Scooter rentals are across the street, but we opted not to rent one, cause of the driving on the other side of the road, and didn't want to kill ourshelves. O.K....heres the real review....people who complain about the island people.. Most of the complainers are probably jerks, and got treated like that back. Bahamians are awesome! And treated us great! Going back in November~!~~

The real story.

I give this hotel a 2.5 out of 5: 1 being unstayable, 5 being the best thing ever and 3 being what you would expect from a typical resort like this for this price. The Hotel is older, under renovation, so they are trying to improve; they are not neat when working though. The room is nice, newly renovated and modern, comfortable and clean(best part of the hotel). The staff is poor, I think the standard 15% gratuity makes them not work for their money or it could be a culture thing. The grounds of the Wyndham are not nice, run down and sort of industrial by the pool, but you get to use the Sheraton and the other Cable Beach resort grounds and pool, so that is great (mainly we used the Sheraton, nice!). Restaurants are good, not 5 star, but decent yet pricey, as is everything. We put the breakfast menu on the door one night, but it was never picked up and when we called, the phone systems had problems, so we never had a chance to use room service. Also didn't appreciate several set areas where they try to rope you in with free gifts to hear a time-share pitch or something of the sort. If you get a good deal on the hotel it is worth it, and it seems it will be getting better due to renovations, but do not expect to be pampered or blown away by the place, just a place to sleep while you enjoy the Sheraton's ground and the Bahamas in general.

Greatly Disappointed!

The reservations were not what I had asked for. There were ants in the bed, toilets did not work for two days and there was no hot water for two days (told we could shower at another hotel down the beach). The beach was not cleared of the seaweed during the 5 days I was there and the restaurants did not cater to the individual. Mostly buffets or expensive dinner restaurants. Could not get a bowl of soup or salad. The ocean was very shollow only up to your knees. Construction was in progress and it was very noisy. We were not told about this ahead of time even though we asked. Never again.
