On our second trip to Rome, we wanted a hotel near the Borghese Gardens in order to visit the Galleria Nationale d' Arte Moderna & the Galleria Borghese. The Principessa is a small hotel. There was a lift to the upper floors, always a plus, but literature from our travel agent indicated that the Principessa had air-conditioned rooms. That may be, but our room did not, unless you count an open window. Our bed was hard as a rock and lumpy. The water in the bathtub dripped all night long. We did have a safe and a tv in the room, along with a small desk and chair. The only pluses were the location relative to where we wanted to be this time (though not that close to major sights except the Borghese and the Spanish Steps). The other plus was the breakfast room, which was a lovely room, with an adequate breakfast.
