We were looking for a hotel that imersed you in the character of Rome. This was it. Very nice rooms, very helpful staff, bowls of fruit outside your door, REALLY small elevator, good location. We walked to all the big sites you'd want to see in Rome, except the Vatican - you'll need a short taxi ride for that. Very easy walk to some very nice restaurants that were recommended by the hotel staff. They were right-on and we enjoyed the experience completely. We are BIG cruisers and have stayed at many hotels all over the world prior to our cruises. This one is a little gem. Do not hesitate!
The hotel is on a side street in the shoping district - but don't be concerned about that. Once you get your bearings, you'll be able to easily navigate your way around and enjoy the city while your explore your way to the sights. The only down side was that they provide a bathroom scale in the rooms. Heck, we were on vacation. Why the heck would we want to weigh ourselves? Not fair guys!
We will be back to Rome on upcoming adventures, and this hotel will be the one we return to. When we checked out, they arranged our transportation to the cruise ports - and the driver was right on time.
Applause, applause to the staff and management of the Britannia. I am honored to provide their first review!
