Good Hotel but small

We stayed here on our honeymoon! The price was right and was close to the Vatican. I enjoyed their daily free buffet (although there was no variety, every day was the same food). We stayed at the Honeymoon Suite and then scaled back to a different room due to price. I enjoyed both rooms though and gave me the experience of two different styled rooms. The rooms were very dark and both had small windows, I had to open the windows and curtains everyday to let some light come through. They like it dark in Rome I think... One of my earings fell into the sink (as it didn't have a plug) and I worried I would never see it again, but they took the plumbing apart and gave it back to me. We did a lot of walking. The personnel was a little standoffish, so I didn't enjoy their lack of niceness and pleasantry to tourists around.

The location is the best thing about this hotel. The room we were given was not the room we saw online. It was stuck in the back alley with no view and was not comfortable at all. It does no good to tell the staff this , they simply shrug and walk away.

This hotel has a great location, friendly staff and a good breakfast. Yes the room was small but thats normal in Europe. i loved the jacizzi tub. I would stay here again.

Great location, bad hotel

My husband and I stayed here due to the location, and the pictures on the internet of its view of St. Peter's. When we got to the hotel, the roof top was closed, so no view; our hotel room had mold growing on the wall; the air conditioning was so loud we had to turn it off; the room was very small, but that is normal for Europe; and I am pretty sure someone used our shower and the things in our room, as things were "out of place" and had evidence of use when we returned. The location is great, just a block from St. Peter's and a couple minutes walk from the Metro. The neighborhood is really safe, which is really great. In general the hotel was not what we expected. It was not horribly expensive, but we expected a little more based on the price. It is hard to tell what you are going to get when you go to Rome, it is so busy, hotels can charge just about anything and they know they will get customers.

Hospitable Vatican - locale hotel

I like this hotel. The room they first put me & my little boy in resembled a bat cave, very dark & small, looking onto what appeared to be the trash area. I asked to be moved & was shown three other rooms. While all were small & quite dark (because of the wooden blinds drawn against the heat) I chose a street side room with a largish bath. The bathroom was attractive - all marble, with one of those feeble Italian dryers & spotlessly cleaned every day. I found the staff to be accommodating & friendly. The neighborhood was very near to the Vatican in a mix of fairly affluent Italian residences & tourists & I felt safe being on my own walking with my child. Despite being streetside, the room was quiet, however the tv didn't work anywhere in the hotel, the airconditioning was practically nonexistent & the rooftop terrace was closed. The overall friendliness of the front desk made my stay enjoyable & the price was right at this hotel.
