Brunelleschi - Good Choice!

Location is superb - very central to everything. You can walk anywhere in Florence from the hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful, from cleaners to front desk. Concierge helped us out many times with booking restaurants, trips etc and made good recommendations when we were stumped for ideas. Rooms are adequate. Mine was a bit small but my companions had a much bigger room for 3. Breakfast was very good, but could be monotonous after a week. They will make you cappuccinos for no extra charge if you ask. If noise bothers you ask for a room away from the street. Florentines enjoy late nights and they may keep you awake. Best bet is to join in the fun!
Excellent hotel, incomparable location.

The location was faultless, about 1-1/2 blocks from the Duomo, and very close to the Uffizi, Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, etc.
The decor and cleanliness of the lobby and common areas was excellent. The room was large, with high ceilings, and the bathroom was bright and commodious. Overall the room was very clean, but on there was some evidence of mildew staining in some of the caulk around the (large) bathtub.
Service was also very good (perhaps not to the overachieving level of the Breakers) and wanted for nothing in terms of friendliness and accomodation.
The restaurant provides very good food and service, but was not very busy, as it was overpriced for the market.
great location, decent value, less than perfect

The location is perfect, clearly in the absolute center of Florence (be aware the hotel entry is somethat hard to find up a small street). The staff was friendly and provided useful info on the hours and location of sights. The room and bathroom were large and clean, though a bit lacking in charm and decor points Though the hotel entrance is up a back street, be aware that our room and many others face on to a busy (though pedestrian only) street with a moderate amount of street noise (especially street sweeping trucks that run late at night). Good buffet breakfast was included in the rate. I would return, but I would also consider other options in this area and at this price.
Great Location

This hotel has a great location, close to everything. Finding it at the end of the day can be a bit of a challenge. The staff on the other hand was not so great, not one smiled our entire visit, they seemed put out when you asked for anything directions, newspaper, map etc. Not one appeared to enjoy their jobs. For the money I was very disappointed.
location was only thing great about this hotel

Location was only thing great. Beds were extremely firm (floor would be more comfortable). Could hear toilets flush and showers in use. Hotel staff acted as if we troubled them when asking for reservations, etc. Restaurant El Jino across from hotel is EXCELLENT!!!!
